In a word “No”
In a word “No”
Playing it safe when looking to design or redesign your living space is boring and unimaginative.
Your home should be a reflection of you, and not some random space that lacks personality.
One of my favourite designer’s is Red Barrinuevo.
Why?
He never fails to deliver.
I have followed Red for quite some time, and I am always amazed.
His use of patterns, texture, colour and subtlety (when required) are inspiring.
I know it’s hard for many to imagine mixing different textures or patterns in the same room but it actually, enhances the living space and gives way to a beautiful outcome.
Every room should have a little something.
Whether it’s a pop of colour, element of surprise, something dramatic (such as wallpaper) or the unexpected, the design of your home should reflect you.
For inspiration, look to magazines, HGTV, Pinterest, Instagram (follow your favourite designers and see who they follow), the internet and some of your favourite design stores.
We live in an era of having everything at our fingertips, so make use of what is available.
Don’t be scared to bring colour into your room, be bold and enjoy the place you call home.
When in doubt, call someone with experience and get a consultation.
May all your rooms be filled with colour, joy and the element of surprise.
